BURNHAM INDUSTRIAL SCHOOL.
The frequency with which inmates of the Burnha.ni Industrial School have of late effected their escape creates the suspicion that the management', or control of the institution, is not all that could be desired. There is also a suspicion—whether well-found-ed we cannot say—that the school is not exercising that influence on the morals of the inmates that was expected Cif it. If a return showing the movements of those who have passed through the institution were'supPlied to Parliament, it tvouM furnish information which might relieve the public conscience. In the meantime, the escape of inmates certainly affords food for public comment.
