A WOOLLEN MILL.
The Masterton Chamber of Commerce is to be commended for the enterprise it is displaying in bringing before the public movements designed : for the advancement of the •interests of the district. The'; meeting called for Friday afternoon to discuss the question of establishing a woollen mill should be largely attended, more particularly as it is to be addressed by -a gentleman who has wide experience in { ;uch matters. Attempts have been made in the past to establish a woollen mill in this district, .but the.ee have failed. By the same token, failure for years attended thp effort to' establish freezing works in onr midst. There is an old axiom that if we do not tat first succeed, we should try again. There has been no time in the history of the Dominion when woollen mills were on a better footing than they are today. We {,re assured that another mill is to he started in the North Island, and we natnrallv ourselves tho question, should it not be at Masterrnh? We trust, that the information given on Friday will induce an immediate and energetic movement i-i th" direction of establishing the industry.
