THE WAIHI STRIKE
WORK TO BE RESUMED. CONTRACTORS NOTIFIED. (By Telegraph—? '.-ws Association.) WAIHI, Last Night. Mr H. P. Barry, superintendent of the Waihi Company, interviewed this morning by a Daily Telegraph representative, stated that work would be resumed at the mine on Wednesday week, and that the Waikino battery would be put into commission as soon a.s quartz was available*. The work at the mine would be started irrespective of the number of men who turned up. All contractors who held uncompleted contracts wit!} the Waihi Company when the strike was declared have been notified by registered letter to the effect that they can resume their contraetrt »hen the mine opeas on Wednesday week. Unless thcy.-ea-n show good reason,? for not resuming work on that date, the company will cancel the contracts and put men-<-in their places.
