Perl ,c'ival James Hart and William Welch, | bwth employed on the Corinthic, were [charged with the theft of fourteen pairs of boots during the trip at different times after the vessel left Capetown. Hart and Welch sold the boots to members of .the crew. The former told a detective that he got them from a steward, who deserted at Capton'n,
