THE TRUST ELECTION.
In this issue we publish an address from Mr H. Evans, ono of tho candidates for the Trust electoin on Wednesday next. It is satisfactory to note that Mr Evans is opposed to the proposal recently made by some misguided persons for the interfering with the. capitation grants to tho primary schools. Wo cannot follow him, however, when he states that he is in favour of a High School, "precisely the school the Establishment Committee are moving to obtain." Does Mr Evans, as a farmer, favour closing down the secondary classes at tho District High School, with their agricultural course, before he is sure of obtaining agricultural instruction in a separate institution?" If he is, then we join issue with him at once. If he is not, he cannot favour tho school the Establishment Committee ire moving to obtain. Tt would be well if "Mr Evans were to make himself clear on this point before Wednesday.
