Tnero was again great interest- taken in the star drama "Won Yet Lost," which seems to nave fairly captivated Masterton picture lovers, who applauded the various stages of this superb military play, which must be considered one of tno very best films yet presented to a Masterton audience. The great value of the cinematograph as an instructor is being borne more clearly upon us day by day, and one has only to visit the Town iiall and witness the high class films screened by the Masterton Picture- Company, to realise the truth of this assertion. The educational seenies submitted last evening tend to elevate and educate, while r.t the same time they are highly entertaining. The comics aro always clever and amusing, and supply the humour that is necessary to make a,programme thoroughly enjoyable. The management will present a complete change of programme on Thursday evening, when a series of the latest films will be presented.

"LOVE'S REVENGE."

For the second night of tho "Love's Revenge" session at tiie Foresters' Hall a very large audience assembled. -The drama was very much appreciated by the audience, and those who have not yet seen this great plioto-play should not miss the opportunity to-night. "Tho Miser's Christmas" is a beautiful conception. A poor beggar woman knocks at tho door of the miser's house just as lie is gloating over his hoarded gold. He roughly orders her away. She fathelingly stumbles onward along storm-beaten way. Presently slio comes to a stable, and like the story of old finds refuge in a manger. The miser goes out to do some business and is overtaken by a very violent outbui/st of the elements and seeks shelter in the stable also. Faint for tho want of those bodily nourishments which his miserly proclivities have prompted him to deny himself, he swoons away, and the poor woman tenderly nurses him back to life. In this scene a glorious transfiguration effect has been introduced, in which the Christ appears to the miser in his unconscious state and the tender and passionate appearance of the Saviour so appeals to the miser that his flinty heart is softened and be takes the poor woman and her child under his care to find therein a joy and pleasure for ever. "Tn Little Italy," a comedy drama, illustrates the difficulties of two lovers in keeping the coast clear whilst they indulge in their lovemaking. A fine Wild West picture, entitled "The Cheyenne Cowhov Carnival," depicts cowboys, cowgirls, and Indians in daring buck-jumping, steer riding, buffalo riding, steer, bull, dogging and many other Western pastimes. The programme will be shown for the last time to-night.
