MASTERTON-WAIPUKURAU RAILWAY LEAGUE
MEETING IN MASTERTON.
A meeting of tho Masterton branch of the Masterton-Waipukurau. Railway League Avas held in Murray's Hall last night, to meet the delegates appointed \by the other branches t6 form a deputation to wait upon the Prime Minister to-day in support of the railway project.
Mr C. E. Daniell was voted to the chair, and he stated that the object of the meeting was to appoint officers for tho local branch, adopt rules, and? transact any other business that might arise. He extended a hearty welcome to the delegates froni other centres, and expressed the hope that success would attend their efforts. The members' roll of the Masterton branch was then called over, and the names of others willing to join given in and accepted. Mr H. M. Boddingt'on was appointed secretary, pro tem, and Mr 0. E. Daniell was elected ch-Mnnnn of the' Masterton branch, and delegate, ex officio, to the centre.
The rules of the centre were read and discussed. They were accepted, subject to confirmation at a later meeting, as the basis of the rules for the branch.
Mr Daniel? was appointed a deleKate from the Masterton branch on the deputation to the Premier. The other delegates are Messrs MacTntyre and J. MaeDojmld (Pongaroa), W.A. Chalmers, fWaipnkurau). C 75. Smith (Wiin stead), Holbrook (Waterfalls), F. H. Murray ("Masterton County Council); E. F. .Barton rtVhAatoki). and H. A. Nevins (Timii).. Mr Daniel] in also representing the Masterton Clmmber of Commerce.
The delegates held a meeting afterwards, when the line of action on meeting the Premier was decided on.
