ANOTHER DEPUTATION. •

PAHIATUA, Last Night,
A deputation of delegates from the. various local bodies in this and surrounding districts will wait upon the Hon W. Eraser, Minister cf Public Works, at Wellington on Friday afterroon. to urge the opening up of the We!Huston-East Coast district by theconstruction of light lateral lines. The (k'-nitiition will comprise delegates: from Pahiatua Borough and County Councils and the District Progressiva Association, the Pahnerston North. Borough Council and Chamber of Commerce, and the Dannevirke Borough Council and Chamber of Commerce. The deputation will urge the construction of the following light feeder lines, aggregating 8G miles, in preference to over 100 miles of heavy line, under the Mastcrton-Waipuku-rau loop-line scheme. Dannevike to Weber. 20 miles, Pahiatua to Pongaroa 30 miles, Eketahuna to Alfredron 12 miles. Masterton to Taueru 12 miles and Featherstoii to Martinborough i2 miles.
