The balance-sheet; of the New Zealand Farmers' Dairy Union states l that the quantity of butter made during the year was 652 tons, 19 cwt,.ancl of cheese 222-J tons. New cheese factories are being erected at Tokoma ra and Newman. The butter manufacturing account shows thai £58,959 12s 6d was paid for butterfat during the season, an increase of £5122 over last year's payments. The local sales of butter amounted to £24,300, and London sales to £45,89&
