THE RAILWAY LEAGUE.
A week or two back i, more or enthusiastic meeting, held in Masterton, decided to form a branch of the Maste'rton Waipukurau Railway League, and to do various other things to bring the urgent claims of the Ivd Coast under the review of Minister::'. So far as can be ascertained, no acetion has since been taken. The Chamber of Commerce set aside a sum of £2O to meet t-iie preliminary expenses, and there is no reason why a small portion of this amount should not be spent in calling' a meeting of members and intending members of the League. It ijj time that Masterton got busy. The session of Parliament will not last many weeks longer, and if it is desired to secure a vote on"the supplementary estimates for a survey and report, immediate action will be necessary. If we have j made a mistake in the nomenclaturs J of the League, do mot let this impede the progress of the great work to which we are committed. •
