ALLEGED BREACHES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE, I: ?t Night, Judgment was given by ftr'S. E. McArthur, S.M., to-day in the case in which a native woman was charged with taking liquor into a proclaimed area, to wit, the Tahoraito Pah. The defendant, in order to provide refreshments at the en<\ of the run of the Dannevirke Hunt, purchased beer and whisky, and sent same to the pah by a carter. It was contended for the defence that the carrier should have been prosecuted. His Worship held that under section 53 of the Justice of the Peace Act, the defendant was liable, and convicted and fined her £2 and costs

Henry Baker, licensee of the Club Hotel, was to-day fined £5 and ordered to pay costs for allowing a youth under the age of 21 years to be supplied with liquor for consumption on the premisOvS. , Colin Douglas, Henry Baker, and Annie Baker, son and wife respectively, cf the licensee, were each fined £1 and costs for simplying youths under 21 years with liquor for consumption on licensed premises. In view of tlie fact that the licensee was not personally aware of the commission of the offences, and that he ordered the youths off his promises as soon as he discovered they were there, his Worship refrained from endorsing the license.
