HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL SEASON.

PAHIATUA, Last Night. The exceptionally high prices rilling for cheese in the Home markets during the past season have proved highly remunerative to co-operative cheese companies manufacturing in this district. 'J ho animal report of the Mangaramarama Company shows that th& amount of cheese manufactured during the season was approximately 73 tons, valued at £1157 16s Id.' In tno previous season 88 tons wero produced, and realised £l3ll lg s 6d. Thus it v.i!' ho seen that although lasfc season's output was 15 tons less than the previous year's total, the output , realised only £18! 2scd less.
per Ih was paid. As the Mangatainoka Company last season's output totalled 207 tons, as compared with 161 tons for the previous season, an increase of 46 tons.
The actual increase from an £ s. d. standpoint, however, lias been much greater, the total for 1911-12 being £11,066 10s, as compared with £7857 lr. 10--1 for 1910-11. showing an increase of £3209 8s 2d. For the 1910-11 period the price paid for butter-fat was. llifcl per lb, while last season Is per lb was paid. At the Mangatainoka and Mangaramarama districts adioin, the settlers in this one area, therefore, have had an. extra £3025 5s 9d distributed amongst them this year. DAIRY COMPATSTY REPORTS. The- directors state:—Herewith we have pleasure in submitting to yon our annual -balance-sheet for the year ending 31at July, 1912, arid congratulation's on the year's work. The-butter-fat amounted to 163,730.911b, - the milk .showing a percentage of 3.90, and (produced 421,61 llib of cheese, equal to 188J tons, an increase on laafc. season of 21£ tons. Each poun 1 of" butter-fat' made 2.571b of cheese, themilk averaging 9.941b to each lib of cheese. During the season advances: „ were made to milk suppliers ait Is per .lb of 'butteir-fat, amounting to £BIB6 10s 7d, Heaving for distribution £2302 9s 2d, equal to 15| or 15.375 pence per lb of ;butter-fat over the whole season. We have also made provision far the payment of 6 per cent on the paSd up capital. The whole of the output was graded 'first-grade, and prices as high as 76s 7d were obtained in the London market—easily a record •for the company. During the season advances up to Is per lib of 'butter-fat were made to suppliers for milk, amounting to £10,805 5s Id, leaving for distribution £3320 7s 2d, making for t-ijie whole season 15 11-16tli or 15.6875 pence per lb of buttar-fa,t. Your directors liave written-off the sum of £65 3s -Id for depreciation of .plant aind 'buildings, and eet aside 6 .per cent ag a dividend on paid up capital. An .extraordinary general mooting was called a. few weeks ago for the purpose of considering the question of installing a whey skimming plant, amd. after an interesting {V'scussion a majority of shareholders voted against the proposal.
