AN INTERESTING POINT. (By Telegraph—l'ress Association.) WANGANUI, Last Night. A point affecting the life insurance policies in New Zealand was raised at the Supreme Court in the case of Thompson v. Blythe.. Defendant was a benificiary in her late son's estate consisting wholly of an endowment policy maturing at the age of GO. Plaintiff whom deceased owed £lB, sued for the amount. Mr Mackay argued for defendant that the policy was protected. Mr Treadwell, for plaintiff, contended that the protection did not apply as the policy was not for a whole life. ' Mr Justice Cooper reserved his decision, but stated that at present he thought the policy was protected. The Act, however, needed careful construing.
