The North v. South Island football ■teams arrived this evening. Steady rain has set in.

Yesterday morning the Secretary of the Wairarapa Rugby Union (Mi- E. MoKenzio) received notification from the Greytown juniors expressing their desire to withdraw from the junior championship, owing to various' reasons. The match, Red Star v. Grcytowri juniors, set down for decision at Carterton wi Saturday will consequent, ly be cancelled.
