RETIRING MINISTERS.
It is unfortunate, in. many respects, that through the exigencies of party politics the services of the Hons. T. Mackenzie aaicl A. M. Mlyery are to be lost to the Bominiio.il as Ministers of 'the Crown. As Minister cif 'Agriculture, Mr Mackenzie has displayed con\spicuous' ability, '.while as Minister for Kaiihvays and, 'Defence Mr Myers has Shown great (business capacity. I\either of these gentlemen have a 'right to ■be associated with the 'Radical elements in the House. They should be Colleagues of Mr and the Moderates. The new Premier would ■be consulting th : s 'best interest© of 'the Dominion, and would be .performing a graceful aet, if lie were to offer 'the High Commissioner ship to one pi these ex-Minis,tors. We cannot say whether either would 'be prepared to accept the position; 'but we do know that the appointment, if made, would give immense satisfaction.
