WHY?
People are beginning to ask what has gone wrong with ill r . N.Z. Times, which ha>s for ,so!re years ibeen the official mouth, piece of the Ward Adm'liistJrationj, that it .should suddenly show antagonism to the Hon. T. Mackenzie. The Times' criticisms of the Premier's speech at O.punake was decidedly uncomplimentary, and its references to liis' attitude over the High Oom/m.issionei - sliip and other matters have-been anything 'but -friendly. Are we to -assume that the Wellington journal is expressing the views of the Radical tseotiorv of the House, or those of 'Sir Joseph Ward? The attitude of the Tiim&s is highly significant at tho present juncture.
