LAXITY OF BOARD OF TRADE

Senator Smith, who presided over the United States Senate Committee's enquiry concerning the loss of the White Star Liner Titanic, speaking in the Senate, said the British Board of Trade's Laxity was largely responsible for fhe disaster, and that lack of discipline after the vessel struck had resulted in tine .sacrifice of 500 lives.
