MISS PERSTON.
.Miss Mary E. Perston, who was very well known to many in'Masterton and tile Wairarapa, died on Saturday evening at Nurse Grengor's Nursing Home, Carterton. The deceased lady was a sister to the .late Mr W. R. Perston, of the Bank of New South) Wales, "Dimc-lin, and lived for many years with her nephew, Mr A. R. Perston, formerly secretary of the Wairarapa and East Coast P. and A. Society. She was of a most amiahlo and kindly disposition, beloved of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She, had been a sufferer for years, but never lost her brightness and serenity. In December she ,wa.s visiting a nephew, and iieice in Auckland, iand had .a serious attack of illness there, from which, she recovered and went to reside in Carterton, where she had a /elapse, and died as above stated. Mr A. K. Perston arrived from Te Horo yesterdav morning, and arranged for the 'funeral to take place to-day at Masterton, where Mr Morns Perston and his sister, nephew and neice of the deceased reside. The deceased lady was 68 "ears of age, and had (been 43 years ta New Zealand. The funeral cortege will pass the Kuripumi corner at £ o'clock.
