OBITUARY
MR THOMAS COLLIER. The tleatlroccurred in the Mastertort Hospital last evening flf another old and respected settle]- of Mastertort, in the person of Mr Thomas Collier. The deceased, who had reached thi3 ripe age of eighty-six years, had been failing in health for several months past, and was removed to the Hospital about five days ago, where hia passed peacefully away as above stated. The late Mr Collier was born in Loftdon, and, at an early age, removed tjo Witney, where ho served an apprenticeship to .Messrs Hurley Bros., at the Whitney Woollen Mills. Ho camo to New Zealand in, 1875, and after spending a few years in tho South Island, arrived in the. Wair.ar.apa in 1882. He has resided in Master ton ever since, and has 'been employed on the various stations at wool-classing, until his eyesight fallied him last year. The deceased established tho Waipoua fellm.on.gery business, which he canducted for ia number of years. He was >a quiet, unassuming man, and was associated for many years with temperance and social work. He leaves a widow iand two sons—Messrs Edward Collier (of Masterton), and Charles Collier (.at present in Australia). A •brother of the deceased (Mr Charles Collier) resided for .a number of years at Island Bav, where he died a few yeara hack, the funeral will leave the residence of Mr E. Collier, Wrigley Street, for the Masterton cemetery, at 2.30 o'clock to-morrow.
