STRANGE BEDFELLOWS.
Politics make strange bedfellows. Among : the delegates- to the Labour Unity .Conference in Wellington last week was Colonel Allen Bell, who was for years President of the Auckland Provincial Council of the Farmers' Union, who twice eon-tested a Northem scat in the Opposition interest, and who claims (to have been god-par-ent to the compulsory system of military training. The gallant Colonel was ostensibly present at the Conference a» representing the "Young New Zealand Party." It would he interesting to know whether the Farmers' Union and Opposition have serious intentions of joining forces with ihe "red-raggers."
