A NEW MOTOR GARAGE.

1 A representative of the Wairarapa' Age was yesterday afforded an opportunity of inspecting the new Motor Garage, which hais just been erected in Masterton for Ma- S. M. Baird, •nlotor car importer and engineer, on Mr Jas. Macara'is section", corner of Dixon and Bannister Streets. Some idea of the proportions o (ftthis ' fine building may be gathered from tho Eact that it has a capacity for the storage of one hundred motor cars. Access to the building is gained through large doors from both Bannister and Dixon Streets. The floor of she garage is concrete, and cars way be washed down and cleaned in the building with Hose and apparatus used for the purpose. The building is • conveniently divided up into Various sections, comprising the main garage, workshop, office, store rooms, waiting rdoms, etc. . Lockers are j-rovided for the convenience of patrons, and the Sadies'. waiting room &nd lavlatory is neatly.furnished. The workshop' is separated; |ran the garbage, by large isiidiiig doors/* Ample "tight i&. obtained during the "day-jt^^u'gh.;'several'.'-skylights, and ■/■ the . I wlfole building is fitted throughout* iVitli gas and eletrcie lights. The powIpx for driving the machinery and al?<; i ilie dyai'a.mo for lighting purposes, and ;for " charging accumulators, is obtained from a "National" gas eu,igine. The workshiop is fully equipp-) ied with, the latest machinery, including lathes, drilling machinery, etc, and every facility is provided for handling cars while they are undergoing repairs. A competent staff of 'medhanios is employed, including Mr W. (E. Sucking, an experienced motor engineer from Cfhristchiircfh. All { •;«ork is carried out under the person- >.] supervision cf M,t Baird, iwho is a practical engineer. A new Cadillac car is used for bire purposes. The fine apeparan/ce of tlie oar, 'ts' elegant,' symmetrical lines, and its beautiful upholstering, make it a really comfortable car. All kinds of motor sundries, tyres, oils, greases, etc., are stocked. The new garage is now ■open for business, aaid the requirements of patrons nviH receive prompt attention.
