The Wellington Zoological Society cabled to Caplain Amundsen at Hobart; "Would you present the Dominion with a dog which has heen to the South Pole, also an autograph certificate for our Zoo and Museum, thus providing a lasting memorial?" Captain Amundsen replied "With pleasure."
