1 suggestion has been made that, to )vercome the difficulty which has arc?n in the self-styled Liberal party, >vhere self-abnegation is to be prac:ised, and wnere there are at least iiventy aspirants for ten portfolios, a system of Ministerial'Under-Secretnr-es should b 0 adopted. These would, rf course, be paid something over and tbove their honorariums, and would >e Minister./ in embryo. The advantage of the adoption of the system .at this stage would be that almost every a;ood Liberal in the House would be ?njoying the sweets and emoluments :>f office, and everybody would be happy—excepting the taxpayer.
