FOXCLOVE.

Thanks to the influence of Mr F. W. H. Rummer, of Mauriceville, who some months back published an article in the "Age," drawing attention to the alarming spread of foxglove, the whole of the local bodies in the northern Wairarapa are taking steps to bring this weed under the operations of the Noxious Weeds Act. The'foxglove has got such a complete hold of some of the properties in this district that its eradication will involve much expense and anxiety. The officers of the Agricultural Department, however, have instructions to administer the Act with prudence, and no settler need have any apprehension, if he exercises reasonable diligence, of being harrassed by the Department. The County Councils are pursuing a right course in protecting the " groat body of settlers against the spread of a devastating weed.
