' A MQNSTER MEETING i ; PROTEST AGAINST BOARD OF ACTION, •, : Received This Morning, 12.45 o'clock. SYDNEY, March 11. A vast crowd , was present in theTown Hall at a meeting of protest against'the actioii of the Board of control, and decided, almost unanimously that the action of the Board is inimical to the best interests of Australian cricket. The appearance of M. A. Noble was tlhe signal for terrific applause, which did not oease until he rose and acknowledged. , ■ Mr Holman declared that the Board had violated the constitution bv ignoring rule nine. Although the Board had refused to give the players an ansewr to the question concerning the appointment of a manager, it had asked for unconditional acceptance of the invitation. He considered that 'what was "sauce for the goose, should he sauce for the gander." Mr Wade said the present interest should be for peace, even at a late hour, and something should be done to see that Australia was represented by the best team. As at present constituted, it was not the team. There Should bo a spirit of give and take on both sides. His sympathies were with the six players.
