AGRICULTURAL EXPERIMENTS.
Tlie efforts of the Agricultural Department to assist farmers in ing their agricultural returns'is being' appreciated by settlers in the Masterton district. The pity is, however, that a larger number of farmers do not avail themselves of, the generous services of the Department in this connection . It is,. .only..by. experiment with cereals and manures that the man upon the land can discover the wheat, oat or root crop best adapted to his soil. When it is stated that tlie Department supplies selected cereals and manures free of charge, and superintends their use, it will be seen that it is doing, a very great deal to develop the internal resources.
