MONTHLY MEETING.

The monthly meeting of the Masterton Trust Lands Trustees was held ; last evening, there being present, — E: G.' Eton (chairman), 0. E. Daniell, T. B. Michell, T. Wagg, J. H. Pauling, W. H. Jackson, and D. Caselberg. A letter was read from the Master-' ;ton South Brass Band, .thanking the Trustees for their grant of £s. Received. Mr John Fuller wrote, declining to go on with the negotiations for the leasing of the Town Hall at present. ' Mr J. C. Ewington asked the Trustees for a new lease of the property upon which the fire recently occurred. j—Mr Jacksgn expressed the opinion that some definite "proposal in writing .should be made by Mr Ewington,— .] Oh the motion . of the chairman, the matter'/jyas- referred to. the,. Building with' power.:to-, interview; 'MrYEwington, and report. '[' .The. Committee was ako authorised, to ascertain the position of the Trust in regard to insurance on the buildings dostroyed. A ( letter from the Inspector of Machinery, requiring the engine flywheel and belting in the power house at the Town Hall to be fenced in, and an automatic starter fitted to' the engine, > was referred to the Town Hall Committee, with power to act. The Treasurer reported a debit balance in the bank at date of £-588 13s
