REST ROOMS.

Women who visit Masterton on a shopping expedition or other business and have to wait about probably for an.hour or two for the return train, would greatly appreciate some establishment where they could take a needful rest, more especially if they have any young children in their charge. It is in the interest of business people, and property owners, that every inducement should be held out to people in the country to visit frequently the town, and in this respect tho provision of a place of rest for lady visitors would be a considerable help in the object aimed at. Such a place must be centrally situated and secure from disturbance. A couple of rooms on the ground floor, suitably furnished with a few lounges and chairs, should prove a valuable asset to the Borough. Rest Clubs for ladies are provided in a few of our progressive towns, and Masterton should not be lacking in this respect. It is a matter that should commend nself to tho careful consideration of our City Fathers. There are centrally situated premises that could be secured for such a purpose, and the ratepayers would not begrudge the payment of the upkeep of Rest Rooms for women. The proposal has a business side as well as the sentimental aspect. An outlay in the direction indicated will .not be money thrown away.
