THE MEAT STRIKE.

No news was more welcome to the farmers of the district than that conveyed through the "Age" on Thursday morning that the strike at the Wellington meat-works had been setled. This will mean, that the stock of the district will be dealt with without any serious loss having been incurred. The rains which have fallen during the currency of tho strike have saved many a fanner from disaster. The terms on which the strike has been, settled are by no means unsatisfactory. The condition imposed that the Union shall register under the Arbitration Act is one which will savo the Companies from further annoyance for a time.
