FRUIT FARMS.
In view of the report furnished to the Master-ton Chamber of Commerce yesterday on the fruit industry, it is rather a pity that Sir Joseph Ward did not project , Ins scheme for establishing fruit farms at a period when lie had some prospect of putting it into effect. The fruit industry is deserving of encouragement, and tho proposal to assist co-operative associations to procure/'land and utilise it for fruit-growing is a good one. Probably when Mr Massey comes to power he will give effect to the suggestion, which will assist in developing the latent resources of the country.
