81-PRODUCTS OF THE DAIRY.

The question of the utilisation of the bi-products of the dairy will soon be seriously considered by those engaged in the industry in all parts of the Dominion. With the price of land and stock going up, farmers will discover' that they cannoi afford to lose any of the products of the cow-. In older countries the dairy people are turning their attention to casein, which is a valuable- bi-product. The matter is now being taken up by the fanners of Manawatu, and there is talk of forming a co-operative factory in the district. The movement will be watched with considerable interest by farmers on this side of the range, and should it be brought to fruition will doubtless be taken up in the Wairarapa.
