•In referring to; the "boosting" .of Ne.w. iZealand townships*,, it may be mentioned. that Waimaie, a little, hamlet in -#he j&oiith, jhas -issued a' booklet 'setting forth its attractions. Amongst the joys to be experienced in a visit ISO that locality is "an hour's drive in (full vnew of. the Pacific Ocean, whose alcohol-laden zephyrs, gently ascending t-lie foot-hills, assaultithe nostrils and quicken the pulse." IMasterton can lay claim to no such attractions as those. The zephyrs which gently pass o'er our scented plains, are laden with the perfume of golden harvest and honey dew, but the "alcohol." well, it is a minus quantity, and neither the optics nor the nostrils tare assaulted by d-t!
