DR. POMARE'S SEAT.
The probability of Dr. Pbmare throwing in Ms lot with the Befbrm Party does not seem to meet with the approval' of some of the "spoon-fed" Natives. They are making an effort to unseat him on the ground that he is not a Native within the meaning of the law. One would, hare thought that, if the validity of Dr. Pom-are'* election were open to question, the initiative would have been ta-ken by ■the Returning Officer. The movement of the Northern Natives would appear to have been instigated hj Hen are Kaihau and his frienda, who ar«* naturally disappointed. But tße result is almost a foregone conclusion.
