'WONDERFUL GROWTH OFPOPULATION. <B\j Telegraph-—Frew' A ssociation ) . AUCKLAND, Last Night. . The wonderful growth of population in. the King Country was impressed upon Mr G. J. Garland during a recent visit to the district in his-cap-acity of Chairman of the Auckland Education Board. In, one case a ne'v school in the far south of the area under the jurisdiction of the land Board lias just been completed to accommodate 70 children, and arrangements 'have been made to open, the school on .February sth. To Mr Gjirland's astonishment, lie was infer, mod that the building wa« ; not large• enough., as there would lie 109 children present on the opening day. That is an illustration of the marvellous growth of the vast magnificent stretch of country lying .east, west, and north, of Lake Taupo.
