THE THIRD TEST.
The .-collapse of the Australian's in their fiaisfc innings against tlie Englishmen lias been followed by a brilliant display by the visiting batsnttxni, who isoored aio fewer than 501 runs. The Australians have now 368 runs to make to save a one-innings defeat, a thing unheard of in international cricket in this part of the Hemisphere. Unless something extraordinary happens, tllie Australians ■will have little hope of averting this calamity. The moral of the last two Test Matches is not difficult to draw. The selectors of the "team have drawn upon reputation instead of upon, tile virile pllayers. J£ the assies are to be retained tto Australia, some of tlie tweak spots will have to be dropped from the team.
