WELLINGTON WOOL SALES
LOAN AND MERCANTILE REPORT
(By Telegraph—Special to, the Age.)
• WELLINGTON, Last Night. The third wool sale of the Wellington series took place to-day in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall. Buyers attended in strong force, and included representatives from all the wool centres. The New Zealand mills and speculators were also .represented. The quantity offered was some 4500 bales less than that offered at the corresponding sale lost season, when the catalogues totalled about 22,500 teles, against about 18,000 bales for tihiis sale. The shortage is almost wholly accounted for by the wet weather experienced during the paxt of November and December retarding, shearing operations: The clip, taken, on the whole, is, we think., lighter in condition, but shows evidence of the unseasonable weather in the large proportion of ootted wool sent forward. Prices for Bomineys and super crossbred were about id to fd higher than an December. Balfbreds were rather neglected, but sold on a par with last sale. Lambs' wool was in good request, and realised from 8d to lOd per lb. Our top price wa-s ll£d, obtained for a bright Eohmey grown by Messrs J. and J. G.
