AMUSEMENTS

THOMPSON-PAVNi PICTURES. The programme submitted at the Foresters' Hall last evening was probatory the best collection, of pictures yet exhibited before any audience in a single evening. Of the 15 subjects projected on. it-he screen, there was nob mie unworthy of high commendation'. "T'lie Aurora Preparing for tir Antarctic" was of exceptional interest, siind was much appreciated. "Winter, tin Finland" was full of pretty viewis of that cold land. Rushing rivers, iffiill of rapids, and pleasing country scenes combined in making this film one well worth seeing by all .picture lovers. "A Study in Flowers" gave an excellent idea of the care and study necessary for the cultivation of the rhododendron, and the fine effects produced thereby from the tiny seeds. "Miss Smith Swimming" was a clever reproduction of an acquatie exhibition given by that champion lady swimmer in a large enclosed and beautifully finished bathing pool in England. The dramatic studies were all good, but .the two most popular of the s'heatMul provided wea-e "On the Warpath," undoubtedly the best Indian production yet screened in tliis town, and "The. Silent Call," be--1 ing the story of an assault nind rohj bery in a travelling train. The details in this picture were thrilling, and held the interest of beholders (during its length. "Five Bold Bad Men," "Bobby in Love," "The Lost Horse," and several other comical films provided excellent material for hearty laughter. This excellent programme, which attracted a very large audience last evening, will be irepeated to-night.
