SHEFFIELD SHIELD MATCH NEW SOUTH WALES v. SOUTH AUSTRALIA. BARDSLEY IN FORM. (Received Last Night, 9.20 o'clock.) ADELAIDE, January 9. New South Wales completed their first innings for 520 runs. Bardsley 177, Minnett 87, Trumper not out 21, Macartney 18, and Cotiter 37 'being tlie chief scorers. Bardsley played a faultless innings, which was one of tliis best. He hit 19 fours and one five. The partnership with Minnett' produced 190 runs. Crawford took six wickets for 141 runs, Stirling 1 for 8, Quist 1 for 36, Hill 1 for 16. South Australia have five wickets down for 152 in their second innings— Mayne 29, Dolling 66, Murry nx*t out 29. Clem. Hill made 10 in the first innings and 1 in the second..

Masterton, on Park Oval; Carter, ton, a bye. (South Wairarapa have withdrawn from the competition.)

JUNIOR. January 13th and 20th. —Carlton v. St; Matthew's, on Park Oval ; Masterton v. Mauriceville, at Mauriceville. January 27th and February 3rd. Carlton v. Mauriceville, at Mauriceville ; Masterton v. St. Matthew's, on Park Qval. February 10th and 17th. —Carlton v. Masterton, on Park Oval; Mauriceville v. St. Matthew's, at Maunceville. There will probably be a. third round of both senior and junior competitions. The team chosen by'tfhe Y.M.C.A. to play the Amateur Athletic Club on the Park Oval to-morrow (Thursday) afternoon, is as follows: —Dr. Prior, A. Thompson (captain), S. Cresswell, J. Wickens, J.
