RECORD OF SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES.

At the H.B. Motor Cycle Club's sports held on till© Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Bay, the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Chit of an entry of 12* machines, representing o different makes the Triumphs secured ten, firsts, seven sec-, onds, and 4 .thmlsi out of a possible eleven events-. ; Tlii.s performance is_ all the _ more remarkable when it -is> considered lihat the Triimipihs had to concede ilarge handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the ten, first machines wore ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on. his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt out the existing figures of tiro Wellington to. Napier recordviz., Slurs, 35mi11., established by Mr H. L. Sehaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In spite of several attempts on other makes of machines 1 , this record lias stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Rrathwaite left tho Welii;np;to'n Post Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's Day, amd arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m.. his time being Ghrs. 38min.., Ibwertaig the previous irecord <by nearly two hours. The Trinimph ran penfcotlv from start to finish, the only two stops being to take i:ii petrol and oil.
