OPEN SHOOTING CONTEST

' An open clay pigeonm'atch was fred at the old Showgrounds on Thursday afternoon by the Masterton Gun Club. The conditions for shooting were good, and the meeting was a decidedly successful one. The .second prize was £5, and the third £2 10s. Ihe conditions were fifteen birds at unknown angles, tw„nominations being tallowed. ' Some of the best known pigeon shohs in New Zealand were among the competitors. The fust prize went to D. Sullivan, of Riversdale, who in his second nomination 'hit witih every bar- ; roll. The second and third prizes v.ere '. divided.between D. Sullivan and A. jGunn, of Masterton, who each sec red Jl4. Messns H.
