MR F. W. CAREY.
Mir F. W. Carey, w;ho hais been, promoted from /the /charge of the Mas*terton . branch of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, to the control of the Hawera branch, leaves' with Mrs Carey this morning for the northern township. They will return in the course of a few day&, however, before, making th'elir final departure. Last night Mr Oarey was met iby a number of cOfientsi of the firm, and presented with a gold watch, and a silver inkstand. Hearty wishes were expressed for his future" prosperity. On Saturday the combined staffs of Masterton, Eketaibuna and Pahiatua presented Mr Carey with a silver liqueur: stand. The presentation was mJade, by Mr J. lorns, the auctioneer to'> the firm, wno referred to the corcM relation© wMch had always existed between Mr Carey and Mb staff, and whilst expressing regret at his departure, voiced the pleasure of all that the transfer meant promo-, toon.
