SPORT IN AUSTRALIA.

THE STANDARD OF PERSONAL HONOUR.

(Received November 23, 8.34 a.m.)

SYDNEY, November 23

Judge Murray, in sentencing a prisoner for an offence arising out of a sports meeting, declared that the standard of personal honour, with regard to sport in Australia; had fallen very low. Men did tricky and deceitful things, not.because tihey were themselves at a low ebb morally, but because they lived, so far as sport was concerned, in an atmosphere seething with dishonour and deceit.

It appeared as if there was little honour, and little chivalry amongst sporting people.
