BANKING BILL.
ATTACKED BY MR DEAKIN

MELBOURNE, November 23. Tn the House, Mr A. Deakin strongly attacked the Banking Bill. He said the Ministry calculated on getting all the advantages and none of tho disadvantages of private banking by the Bill, but they would be disappointed. Tho Bill was being hurried through because Ministers were fearful that tho. forthcoming labour conference .vonld reject the Government' proposal and adept Mr King O'Malley's scheme, which would not suit the Government.
Tho Bill was Mr O'Malley's scheme. pasteurisL'd. Ho pleaded against the Commonwealth growing rich and taking away the banking facilities from the States. Mr Deakin moved as an amendment that the Bill bo referred to a select committeo of inquiry. The Hon. A. Fisher, Prime Minister, announced that tho Govornmeit were unable to accept the amendment. Tho debate has been adjourned.
