THE RECENT DISASTER.
The recent : 'ismash" which the Masterton Hjomi:ig Pigeon Club experienced in its race from Cha-istchurcih last Saturday is tne worst the Club hlas .sustained since its inception. Out of thie 56 birds liberated; only three all told have regained.£heir loks.. Mr F. Rosisoni, who owned the wSnning bird, got, another home yesterday, as also 'dnd, S. Hoar, It is fortunate that the (dub' had dTvaded,- its old toird raceis into .fo'ui: ies (two North and two South), as th& No. 2 Sbuitflu birds -which ware the contestants in tibe recent disaster have been practically wiped out. However, the other, races- have been as successful as this was diiaastrous,, and hew Club records have been established from several of tihe otiher race points, the two mlost canlspdcuous being Auckland in 6hirs. 3min., and Tamatfu in 8 hours. The No. i North birds that esitablfiteihied the above record from, lAraokHand are to be liberated this ' .moraing at RmsiseM, and it will take j Bom© rough' weather indeed to stop i tihe experienced old flyeirs. j
