A ONE-SIDED ELECTION.

So far as the Masterton electorate is concerned, the people have no choice as between the Government and the Opposition. The whole of the three candidates' are of one opinion, i.e., that the Ward Administration should be ousted. That being so, and as the Ministry hasi not the courage to put up a candidate to defend its policy—if the semblance of such a thing it possesses—the eleetors/will have to record their votes purely and simply upon the personality of the candidates offering. Mi' Hogg has undoubtedly great claims upon the electorate in consideration of his past services, but he has yet to convince the electorsi that he is sincere when he says he wishes to see the Government ousted. If he be. sincere, he will have no eomipuncticoi in giving a pledge that he will vote a,gainst the Government on the first and on every no-confidence motion that might be tabled.
