That fanciful piece of legislation which is designed to convert all the: young "rt'idow® of the Dominion into supportersi will not stinct close scrutiny. it provides widow's ' witih"' children . under fourteen years of age, who are not given pensions. ; How'many widows are there in the Dominion wik> are not receiving £3O per year from one source or another? There may be a few, and these are in receipt of charitable aid. Would it pay a widow with one child, who is in receipt, say, of j.os 4>er week .from a Charitable Aid Board, to forfeit this and receive £l2 per year in pension from the Government P No provision whatever is made for aged and penurious widows without families.
