Drummond, who will contest the Eiccarton seat as an Independent Labour candidate, addressed a fair meeting last night. He advocated a State bank, borrowing for development purposes, taxation of all public amusements for the support of charities, and concessions in taxation to men with families. On th#> licensing question, he favoured the bare majority. He was accorded a vote of thanks. SIR JOHN FINDLAY. Sir John Findlay (who will be accompanied by Lady Findlay) will leave for Auckland to-d'ay, and open the Parnell election campaign on Monday.
