REBATE OF RENT.
The fact that Crown settlers receive a rebate of 10 per cent, on the prompt payment of their rent seems to have upsef the equilibrium of- some of our 'unftiated legislators.' Mr L. M. Isitt, who, of course, no better,' think® the rebate is "iniquitous." It may interest Mr Isitt and th- rest of the "city politicians to know that the rebate is part of the original contract. The ten per cent, was really 'added to' the rental value of the land, so that the Government would not suffer through defaults. It is quite a business proposition, and is done everyday of the week in respect to ordinary commercial transactions.
