, CARTERTON.
Mr Joseph Oates, Patron of the Carterton Gim Club, has donated £2 towards the funds of the Cluh.
A very successful concert in aid of the (funds of St. Mark's Sunday School was given on Monday evening, before an appreciative audieuice. The Belvedere Amateur Theatrical Society on Monday evening produced its laughable comedies, "Boots at the Swan," and "Catching an Heiress," at Clarevilk, when there was a large attendance, and the programme was fully appreciated. The entertainment is to be repeated at Parkvale on, Thursday evening. Mt T. W. Vose, who recently purchased Mr F. Cave's private residence and grounds in North High Street, is erecting up-to-date poultry runs on a portion of the property, and is going into the business in a business-like way.
