THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. There was another good attendance at the Foresters' Hall last evening, to witness the second presentation of the current programme.. Included ii the dramas were two historical studies of an interesting character, viz., "The Queen of Nineveh" and "Aithalia." Of the others. "The Lighthouse Keeper's Peril" was the best. "The Hydraulic Lift Lock" waa apiot-ure showing one of the greatest engineering achievements in the world. Some splendid views of Naples were exhibited, while in British ibootmaking a big industry was ishown; Several other first-class pictures 'Were presented.' \ The programme will, be shown for the last time to-night.

"OUR MISS GIBBS."
On Tuesday next, at the Masterton Town Hall, Mr J. C. Williamson's Royal Oomic Opera Company will,'for a season, of one night 1 on-lyy. ,. produce tho imost successful musical comedy possibly of a, generation—"Our Miss Giibhs." Of all smoderr musical successesl, "Our Miss Gibbs" is the one that has broken records in every direction. For eight 'month® and a half iv Sydney, and for five months in Melbourne, thisi brilliant play filled tita theatres at which it was presented. The reason of the wonderful success achieved oan be accounted for in I the /brightness! of the performance, ! i the brilliancy of the music, and the ■ i gorgeous costuming and mounting, I together with the splendid cast that I Mr JvC Williamson has got together to interpret the play. The nega,?<> ment of Miss Blanche Brown, for the I part of Mary Gibbs, practically" enI sured the suecesis of the peace. Miss Browne, from the moment of her I first appearance, '-was an unqualified J triumph. As a singer, dancer, and | actress, the clever little lady at once ingratiated herself into the good J graces of her audience. Another important factor in the general success is Mr Bertie Wright, an English comedian, who comes- heralded with a fine reputation as a humorist. Also there is Mr Leslie Holland, likewise on artist from the Gaiety Theatre, London. These, with. Mi* Fred Leslie, Mir C. R. Bantoclc, Mr lan Maxwell, Mr Colin Campbell, and Mr Frank Stirling form among the gentliemem a remarkably strong combinI ation. Of the ladies supporting Miss Blanche Browne will .be found .Miss Nellie Wilson, Miss Fitzmaurice Gill, Misis Connie iMilne, Miss Nellie Calvin, Miss Ivy Schilling, Mis® Eileen Redmond, and Miss Vera Pearce. The Company, which h' been materially I strengthened, the largest numeri- ! cally tliat the firm of J. O. William- | son, Ltd., has yet isent to Masterton. ISo much has 'been: said, written and I read about "Our Miss,Gibbs" that in. tenst in the ifortbooming production , is very ikeen. Notwithstanding the magnitude of the enterprise, the ordinary Royal Comic Opera prices will obtain. The play is to be done in exactly the same manner to the smallest detail a® in the 'big Australiar cities. The box plans l will be opened at Miss Rive's on Friday next. The Company numbers' 110 persons, including the Famous Royal Entertainers— and ha® a specially augmented orchestra under the direcI tion of Mr Fritz Hart. ' •
